And Justice For All: Information for Wrongful Convictions

Other Criminal Record & Traffic Issues

This article contains a link to a website specifically designed to help those who believe they have been falsely convicted or are worried about their criminal case. The website is known as "And Justice for All." It was funded by the Texas Young Lawyers Association.

Purpose of "And Justice for All"

In 2014, research revealed that as many as 4% of capital punishment sentences are wrongful convictions. Four percent of capital punishment sentences resulted in people being placed in jail for crimes they did not commit.

In 2013, Texas led the country in exonerations. While commendable, our mission is to try to eradicate these errors so that no man or woman should spend time in prison for a crime they did not commit.

Through the website, "And Justice For All," the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Texas State Bar seek to educate lawyers on both sides of the bar, as well as the general public, to reduce the risk of wrongful convictions.
